Pattie Gowing was born and raised in the Woodstock area of SE Portland and spent many wonderful years playing softball and tennis in Woodstock Park. She graduated from Franklin High School.
She has worked with children all of her adult life in a variety of settings: Kindergarten Teacher's Aide, Nanny, Home Day Care Owner, and Home Schooling Mom. She loves children and they love her!
When her first daughter was ready to go to preschool, she had no idea where to turn. She wished there had been a comprehensive list of preschools to choose from. Now living in the Hawthorne area, they chose Mt. Tabor Preschool and enjoyed a wonderful experience. Her second daughter attended there as well with the same results.
Knowing there was a need for a comprehensive list of available preschools and childcare/preschool combinations in the Portland Metro area, she set out to put together The Portland Preschool Directory. Complete with Preschool Reviews and Parent Resources, the Portland Preschool Directory quickly became the Portland Metro Area's #1 site for parents of young children looking for early child education options.
We're certain that the benefit to families in our community was worth the effort and we hope you agree!
